This artwork is inspired by an Irish folk song about a man who climbs a ladder and falls off after drinking too much. The tale seemed to warn about the consequences of desiring too much pleasure. To symbolize his indulgence, I depicted honey dripping over his face. The ladders surrounding him represent the consequences that he has to face for chasing excessive pleasure. The bright, warm-colored clouds at the top of the painting symbolize the boundary between his conscious and unconscious mind.
